William D. Mize joined Sumner Regional Health Systems, Inc., (SRHS) in 1994 as vice president of operations and has served as administrator of Trousdale Medical Center since May 2000. Prior to becoming a part of SRHS, Mize worked in several health care organizations, including Vanderbilt
University Medical Center, Hospital Corporation of
America and Rebound, Inc., a rehabilitation company.
Additionally, he completed 23 years’ service in the U.S. Army Reserves attaining the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and is a veteran of Desert Storm.
Mize attained diplomat level in the American College of Health Care Executives and is a founding member of the Middle Tennessee Health Care Executives Association. He holds a bachelor’s degree in classical languages from Tulane University, New Orleans, La., and a master of science degree in hospital and health administration from the University of Alabama in Birmingham.
